Blanton's Bourbon

This isn't really Blanton's Bourbon.  It's just a painting of a Blanton's bottle with other bourbon in it.  The Blanton's is long gone, but I've kept the bottle to remind me of the good friend who gave it to me years ago.

Curacao Bottle and fruit

This is day three of painting in 2015.  I wanted to paint something colorful today so I scouted through the liquor cabinet and found a very dusty bottle of Curacao.  I've forgotten what it taste like, so I plan to look up a recipe before cocktail hour this evening.

Tea and Lemon

I had limited time to paint today, so I worked from a limited monochromatic palette.

Red Teapot

All of the painters I admire paint in a loose expressive style.  I haven't been able to achieve that result myself, so I'm starting the year with a series of small still-lifes.   I'm going to continue this series until I'm able to develop a loose expressive style.   I may not complete a painting each day, but I plan to paint each day.

Casey

This little girl is Casey.  I'm trying to get more creative with backgrounds in my pet portraits.  This one was fun to paint.

Frankie

This little fellow was recently adopted by a friend of mine.  He was bitten by a copperhead and had a long recovery in the hospital.  My friend has given him a loving safe home.

Doug's Cat

This is Doug's Cat.  Other than painting sessions with friends, I haven't painted in my studio for over a month.  Other than holiday trips, I plan to be back in the studio every day for the rest of 2014.
