Red Teapot

All of the painters I admire paint in a loose expressive style.  I haven't been able to achieve that result myself, so I'm starting the year with a series of small still-lifes.   I'm going to continue this series until I'm able to develop a loose expressive style.   I may not complete a painting each day, but I plan to paint each day.  

Little Red Teapot

This is my first painting in the January 2014 30 day painting challenge.  I'm choosing a different theme each week.  This first week will be an assortment of beverages.  I wanted to work on balancing reds and oranges today.  I added the green teabags for a splash of contrast.  I'll be placing these on auction at Daily Paintworks.  To check out active auctions and/or to bid on this painting, click here.
