Medea in the Grass

This painting was pulled from a photo of my sweet girl Medea.   She passed away in 2012 and we miss her dearly.

Joe' Sheep Crying Loudly

I've been trying to get to know sheep this week. This is from a photo I took a couple of years ago while feeding my neighbor's sheep. They had to get rid of their sheep a while back, so I plan to paint them a painting of sheep for Christmas. This one may not be their style, but I had fun painting it. I plan to keep painting sheep until I get to know them in paint!

Cuckoo Maran

Another chicken painting... we sold this fellow at a chicken auction. He was very mean, but really good looking.

Red Rooster

I've had some interest in my chicken paintings, so I'll painting several more in hopes of more holiday sales. This guy was a very nice rooster. He has the colorings of a Wyandotte, but didn't have the rose cone so he wasn't a pure-breed. For more examples of my animal paintings and other work visit my website jeangrenier.net.

Red Okra

We grow red and green okra. I mainly grow the red because of the way it looks. It has bright red stems and veins in the leaves.

This picture was taken last spring during a sail boat competition on lake Hartwell GA. We weren't in the race... just spectators.

This was an old photo I pulled out from a trip to Italy with my mom. We were at Pompei when I took this. I could have spent a month there... fascinating!

Still Life with Tonic and Oranges

The bottle in this still life came from Germany. It has some sort of herbal alcoholic tonic in it that doesn't taste very good.

Still Life w/ Talisman

This Sill Life is set up with items from Peru. We have visited Peru several times and love the country. These are simple small treasures that we brought back, including a little Talisman that we have kept close to the vest for years. The pottery in Peru is quite unique and beautiful.

Piranha Still-life

I bought this little fish from a young boy in Peru after I caught a few of my own in the Amazon river. They taste like bream but are very bony.

Big Red

This is a Wyandotte Rooster. We named this fellow "The Donald" for obvious reasons. Sadly, he is no longer with us on our farm, but hopefully, I've immortalized him as much as a chicken can be. He was a very gentle soul.
